Absolutely no distinction between clean and unclean living beings for food but the BLOOD was prohibited. This is a very important note. This is why it was still prohibited in the New Testament and still is today.
Act 15:28
For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater than these necessary things;Gen 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
Gen 9:5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.
The When and Why of the unclean food.
Because the people would not hear the LORD on Mt Sinai
Exo 20:18
And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.GOD wanted to be their GOD, HE wanted them to hear Him with their ears and receive HIS word into their hearts, but they would not! So Moses had to be a mediator which was never intended. So the LORD gave them statues that were not good and judgments whereby they should not live
Eze 20:16
Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.
Eze 20:25
Wherefore I gave them also statutes
that were not good, and judgments whereby
they should not live;
Eze 20:26
And I polluted them in their own gifts, in
that they caused to pass through the fire
all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they
might know that I am the LORD.
In order to make them a separate people and separate them from the world, since they would not do it spiritually GOD made it a physical separation with added statutes and judgments which were hard to bear and put in bondage and of these were the food laws.
Gal 4:22
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.Gal 4:23
But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.Gal 4:24
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to, which is Agar.Gal 4:25
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.Gal 4:26
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
The 2 covenants.. The Book of Moses and the Spirit of Christ
Jesus, Yeshua Messiah both governing the same thing, this SIN within us as
pointed out by the
10 Commandments or 10 Words of GOD which the people refused
to hear and which are to day to be written upon the fleshly tables of our
hearts.
Hence as one of the acts of separation... things became unclean for food.
Lev 20:24 But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.
Note in the next verse "ye shall **THEREFORE** ["for this reason"...] put a difference between clean and unclean beasts". This is when it happened, not before. And why? Because GOD had separated them from other people, physically.
Lev 20:25 Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
Lev 20:26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
And now that wall of separation between
Israel and gentiles has been destroyed.
Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down
the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having
abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in
ordinances; for to make in
himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Again WHY?
Eze 20:16
Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.Eze 20:25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;
Eze 20:26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.
Nothing is unclean of itself and for Noah a righteous man nothing was unclean for food. Paul understood this as he was persuaded by Yeshua that nothing was unclean of itself.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Rom 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Yeshua was very clear about this issue.. and commented on the extreme lack of understanding on the part of the people.
Mark 7:18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that *WHATSOEVER* thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
Mark 7:19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
WHATSOEVER a very strong word.

So therefore from the mouth of the Son of God all things eaten or drank as food ( this does not include alcohol, or drugs) will not defile a man or make him unclean.
Conclusion:
To those living in spirit there is nothing unclean for food. To not eat is OK and it will not hurt your soul, to eat is OK and it will not hurt your soul. But be very careful how you judge in these matters and do not lay a stumbling block or un-needed burden on anyone.

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their

4 For every creature of God

good, or whether it be evil.
